Exciting Update in JSS 21.6 and 22.1: A Game Changer for Developers

I’m thrilled to share this video with you, where Sebastian Winter, Technical Product Marketer at Sitecore, walks us through the steps to update the Sitecore headless solution to JSS Version 22.1.3. The latest releases, JSS 21.6 and JSS 22.1, have introduced some fantastic new features. But what truly stands out as a game-changer for developers is the Context ID.

The new Context ID simplifies the connection between Sitecore Pages and local frontend development, streamlining the workflow and significantly enhancing the developer experience. As someone who works closely with these tools, I can honestly say this makes developing the editor experience much easier and faster, which is invaluable.

On top of that, the update brings other great features like XM Cloud Forms now available in XM Cloud Pages, the "Bring Your Own Component" (BYOC) option for the Component Builder, and improved performance across XM Cloud Pages. Plus, the local development and testing experience has never been smoother!

Watch the video below to dive into the details and see why this update is a big deal!

Conclusion

It might take a bit of rework, but the benefits can be insane when you're developing a new(ly) solution at this moment. Frontend devs don't need to wait for a Sitecore XM Cloud deployment to test their code or make all kinds of difficult adjustments to use Pages.

This is the way! Make your frontend developers happy.
